How to Build a Website People Actually Use (Not Just Open and Leave)

I had a client whose site got 2,000 visits per month. They received three inquiries. Three.

Kako napraviti sajt koji ljudi stvarno koriste (a ne samo otvore i odu)

Another client - 400 visits, 15 inquiries.

The math is brutal: it's not about how many people enter. It's about how many do what you want.

People don't read - they scan

Users scan headlines, subheadings, and buttons. If they don't find what they need in 10 seconds - they leave.

Practically: Hero section doesn't need three paragraphs. One clear sentence and one button.

Every page has one goal

One page = one main goal. If your contact page has five different CTAs going different places - you're confusing someone who already decided to reach out.

A 12-field form is the enemy

I shortened a contact form from 9 fields to 4. Submissions doubled in two weeks.

Speed is UX

When a site is slow, you subconsciously think the company might not be serious.

Mobile users aren't "less important"

In Serbia, especially for local businesses, mobile is often the primary device.

Write for humans, not Google bots

The best SEO content answers real questions in real words.

Social proof - but real

"Best on the market" - who says they aren't?

Better: "Completed 30+ projects for companies in Belgrade and Novi Sad." Specific. Verifiable.

Metrics - otherwise you're guessing

Without Analytics you don't know which pages people leave, whether they reach the contact form, or where traffic comes from.

A site isn't a poster - it's a living system

Clients who don't update their site for a year shouldn't wonder why there are no results.

The shortest formula

A site people use is one where they immediately understand what you offer, easily find the next step, trust you enough to inquire, don't wait for the page to load, and can do all of this on their phone.
